Inaugural Warrior Cup Five-A-Side Soccer Tournament

Join us for the Inaugural "Warrior Cup" Five-A-Side Soccer Tournament at the new Valley Park in Tehachapi. November 16th at 8am.


Roster Details: 5 to 7 Players on Roster. Must be 16 and older to play. All Players must sign liability waiver, those under 18 must have it signed by a parent/guardian before competition.

Player Waiver, can be signed day of tournament, if parent/guardians not present for 16/17 year old players, please print signed copy and return the day of the Tournament. 


Tournament Rules:

Required Equipment: Shin Guards for each player. Goal keeper Gloves for goal keeper.
All players must either wear athletic shoes, or soccer shoes designed for artificial turf. No Cleats/spikes (Rubber or otherwise) allowed on the court.
Teams will be provided with colored scrimmage vests to differentiate the two teams unless one or both teams is wearing matching uniform tops (not required).
A size 4 ball, standard for five-a-side play, will be provided as the official game ball.

Game Rules: 
Maximum of five players per team on the field, including the goalkeeper.
Free Substitutions are allowed at any stoppage of play by alerting the referee.

Goalkeepers:
Can only touch the ball inside of the keeper’s area.
Keepers are allowed to make saves with their hands, and can only touch the ball with their feet if attempting to save a shot on goal.
No “goal kicks” from the goalkeeper. Keepers are not allowed to pass the ball with their feet at any time, they must roll the ball back into play to another player following a save. That player cannot play the ball directly back to the keeper.
Any violation of the above results in a penalty kick for the opposing team.
Field Players:
Cannot touch or shoot the ball in the marked goalkeeper’s area. (Violation results in a penalty shot for the opposing team). Even on loose balls saved by the keeper, it must go outside of the marked area before another shot can be attempted.
Shots on goal can only be made inside the offensive zone of the attacking team marked by the midfield line.
There is no off-sides, players are free to play anywhere on the court.
All other standard soccer rules relating to challenges, hand balls, contact without touching the ball, etc. will apply. No slide tackling. 
Each foul, other than those listed in the goalkeeper’s section will result in a free kick.
If a team accumulates five fouls in a game, their opponent will receive a penalty kick.
Intentionally rough play and challenges will not be tolerated. Referees will have discretion to issue yellow and red cards. Two yellow cards result in a red card and disqualification from that game and any remaining tournament games. Any foul deemed dangerous enough for a stand-alone red card will result in disqualification from the contest and the remaining tournament for that player. Teams are allowed to substitute another player on the court in place of the disqualified player.
Games:
Games are 10 minutes long with a stoppage around the 5-minute mark to allow for substitutions.
Each team is guaranteed at least five games, potentially more based on the number of teams entered.
Top-6 teams will advance to a knockout playoff bracket with the top-two seeds receiving a “bye” (subject to change based on number of teams entered).


**Bonus "King of the Court" Tournament

  Time Permitting
Following the conclusion of the Warrior Cup Tournament, Teams wishing to participate in the “King of the Court” Tournament can enter for an additional $25.
The format will be as follows:
-Each team captain will draw a number corresponding with the number of teams in the ‘King of the Court’
   -The team that draws number “1” and “2” will be the first teams on the field. Winner stays, losing team is eliminated. This continues throughout the King of the Court Tournament.
    -Games are played to three goals.
    -The final team in the drawing will have to win twice to be crowned “King of the Court”. The team that was remaining on the court from the previous game needs to only win once.

   -Separate Awards/Prizes Will be Awarded to the Winning Team.
